The Hydrogen Fueling Station is a crucial component to Lewis County’s Zero Emission Transition Plan, as it will provide a sustainable fuel source for our Zero-Emissions fleet right here at home. However, this station is the only one of its kind in southwest Washington, and it requires many components to come together exactly right to be ready for use.

Right now, we are in the commissioning phase, which means that each vendor is working through their unique checklists for every component under their purview to ensure that all parts are properly installed, connected, operable, and ready to transmit data for site monitoring. We are also filling essential cooling fluids and testing ground storage.

Once the vendors have completed their individual component reviews, they will begin collaborating to make all components work in unison, ensuring smooth and safe operation between the electrolyzer, compression, storage, and dispensing.

Lewis County Transit will announce an opening date once we have ensured that each component is functioning properly and ready for operation and monitoring.
